Hendricks Virgil Hairy Chin was born February 3, 1944 in Bullhead, South Dakota to Raymond W. Hairy Chin, Sr. and Lucille E. Howard Hairy Chin. He entered the spirit world September 8, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Hendricks, or Charles Bronson, as he was affectionately called, attended his early school years at Bullhead Day School, later receiving his G.E.D.

Hendricks "Bronson" enjoyed various arts and crafts, pow-wows and of course, casinos. He valued his friends in general in Eagle Butte, McLaughlin and Bullhead.

Hendricks was self-employed throughout his younger years at area ranches as a ranch hand. He was always a very caring person who enjoyed spending time with his brother, Emerson, who was his caretaker up until the time of his passing. He also enjoyed his time with his sisters, Lavena and Naomi Hairy Chin of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces, nephews & takojas.

Despite his health issues, Hendricks managed to keep strong with his Catholic faith and his Lakota ways, and was very fond of his belief in prayer. He loved his family very much and prayed for them often, no matter what the situation. That also included his only living Auntie, Cecelia Hairy Chin/Brown Otter and 2 children that were adopted out at infancy in the Washington and Minnesota area. His son, Chris Troth/Hairy Chin (Hendricks Jr.) and daughter, Alda Mae Hairy Chin and one deceased daughter, Shelly Rae Hairy Chin.

Hendricks will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his younger brother, Emerson of Ft. Yates, ND who was always by his side throughout his latter years; sisters, Lavena and Naomi Hairy Chin of Washington and a special niece, Lucia Hairy Chin of McLaughlin along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Lucille (Howard) Hairy Chin; brothers, Donald, Quentin "Raymond Jr.", Merle and Joseph; sisters, Big Naomi, Ruby, Alvira and Eunice and grandparents, Joachim Dancing Bull/Hairy Chin and Victoria DeRockbraine/Hairy Chin.
