Gordon DeWayne Red Tomahawk was born October 2, 1977 in Fort Yates, North Dakota. His early childhood was spent in Ft. Yates, before moving with his family to Lame Deer, Montana. Gordon attended school there at St. Labre Mission School in Ashley, Montana.

Gordon worked in various places doing labor work in the construction industry. He enjoyed beadwork and was a wonderful craftsman with horsehair and a good artist. He enjoyed playing basketball and loved the Denver Broncos.

Annette states that Gordon was her best friend and the love of her life who gifted her with their beautiful daughter, Sylvi-Annah. Annette & Gordon were together only a short time, five years to be exact. She is so grateful the Lord blessed her with his presence, his great sense of humor and his magnificent man-body. He made her smile every day. Together, Gordon and Annette, made an awesome team. She will always have Gordon in her heart and by her side. Sylvi-Annah will always know him in her heart, because Annette will never let his memory die. Gordon, who would always carry Sylvi-Annah around, called her his "Gordon Jr.". He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
