Cody Vaughn Jewett was born November 28, 1980 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Manuel Fernandez and Beverly Jewett Livermont. He spent most of his early childhood in White Horse. Cody and his mother moved to Timber Lake in the late 90's. He went to school briefly in Timber Lake, SD, but quit to help support himself and his mother. He held jobs doing fencing, braking horses and doing high-rise painting, which took him to various states. He wasn't afraid to work and would find any job he could. He worked out in the Black Hills for awhile until he could find more work back in Timber Lake so he could take care of his mother. At the time of his death he was combining for Dave Biegler. Cody loved to laugh and joke, to visit with people and helped whenever and wherever needed. Cody enjoyed the little rodeos they held in various places and was a mugger for the wild horse races. Cody had many friends and at times the boys, some of which are: Verle (Bumpy) Janis, Brandon & Richard Dupris, Chad Holzer, Jimi & Artie Jewett, Dickie Steele, Justin Miller, Riggin & Dugan Smith, Dustin Ne and Matt Forje, got a little wild, but usually all in fun. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was close to his nephews, Coy and Dakota. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousins and friends, and "drinking a few". His main concern was his mother. Cody will be missed by all who knew him, especially his cute dimple when he smiled.
